How to Use the College GPA Calculator – Step-by-Step
Step 1: Set Your Preferences
Enter the number of subjects you want to include (between 1 and 15).
Select your GPA scale from the dropdown:
Choose 4.0, 5.0, or 10.0.
Optional – Check the “Use Weighted GPA” box if your school uses weighted grades for Honors, AP/IB, or College courses.
Step 2: Generate Subject Input Fields
Click the “Generate Subject Fields” button.
This will display a table where you can input your subjects, grades, and credit hours.
Step 3: Select Grade Input Type
Choose between:
Numeric Grade (e.g., 3.7 on a 4.0 scale)
Letter Grade (e.g., A, B+, C−)
Use the buttons labeled “Numeric Grade” and “Letter Grade” to toggle between modes.
Step 4: Fill in Subject Details
For each subject row:
Subject Name: You can rename or keep the default (e.g., Subject 1).
Grade:
Enter a numeric grade or select a letter grade depending on the mode you chose in Step 3.
Credit Hours: Input the credit hours (usually between 0.5 and 6).
Course Type (if Weighted GPA is enabled):
Choose from Regular, Honors, AP/IB, or College.
Optional – Click the reset button next to a subject to clear that row’s inputs.
Step 5: Calculate Your GPA
Click the “Calculate GPA” button.
The calculator will:
Validate your inputs
Apply weight (if enabled)
Compute your GPA.
View Your Results
You will see:
Your GPA displayed in a large chart
Summary details:
Total subjects
GPA scale used
Total credit hours
Grade points earned
Bar chart showing grade and credit hour breakdown per subject
